**The Opportunity**

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Communications Lead for the USAID-funded Feed the Future Egypt Rural Agribusiness Strengthening Project, based in Egypt. The Project will employ a market-driven, systems-strengthening approach to improve the competitiveness of horticulture producers and related downstream businesses and food processors by developing their abilities to respond to domestic and international buyer demand. The Project will address the following inter-related goals: 1) Strengthen sustainable domestic and international market linkages; 2) Improve post-harvest handling and storage; 3) Increase productivity of small farmers and food processors; and 4) Improve nutritional status of women and children.

The Project’s headquarters office in Cairo and three regional offices in Minya, Luxor, and Gharbia. The Project’s team includes several US and local subcontractors. This position will be full-time and based in Cairo, Egypt.

Under the supervision of the Operations Director, you will implement the approved communications plan to share the Project’s learning and achievements with relevant stakeholders.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Manage the developed comprehensive communications plan to share results, technical reports, and lessons learned with our stakeholders.
- With the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Lead, produce materials, augment training, and design multi-modal media campaigns to promote behavior change, food safety, nutrition, gender inclusiveness, and knowledge sharing across results areas.
- Ensure compliant branding of all deliverables and public-facing products under USAID and Feed the Future guidelines to clearly communicate that foreign assistance is from the American people. Develop and implement knowledge-management practices and mechanisms, in coordination with the Abt home office.
- Manage printing and audiovisual vendors for all communications materials including animation videos.
- Develop press releases and joint news statements and/or social media posts with the Project’s stakeholders.
- Finalize annual work plans, annual, and quarterly reports.
- Develop and submit weekly updates.
- Develop and finalize event briefers for USAID,
- Develop and finalize success stories for quarter reports and USAID social media platforms.
- Update photo archiving files.
- Other duties as required.

**What We Value**
- Bachelor’s Degree + Twelve years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Ten years of relevant experience, or PhD+ Eight years of relevant experience
- Previous field experience on USAID-funded projects in Egypt strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including calmness under pressure. Must be able to manage relationships with USAID and internal and external program stakeholders and partners.
- Experience with social media, graphic design, and video editing all desirable.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, highly organized and deadline driven. Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and bring them to fruition.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic required.
