Head of Design

**Job Overview**:
Invitro Capital is seeking a highly creative and experienced Head of Design to lead our design team and drive the visual and user experience across our portfolio companies. As the Head of Design, you will be responsible for setting the design vision, strategy, and standards, as well as managing a team of designers to deliver high-quality and impactful design solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create beautiful and intuitive user interfaces, enhance brand identities, and ensure a cohesive design language across all touchpoints. **Head of Design, Responsibilities**:

- Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and support in their professional growth and development.
- Define and implement design strategies, processes, and standards to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into compelling design solutions.
- Create and refine design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and visual assets.
- Drive the user-centered design process, conducting user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements.
- Oversee the production of design deliverables, ensuring they meet high standards of visual appeal, usability, and brand consistency.
- Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and techniques, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in design practices.

**Requirements**:
**Minimum Qualifications**:

- 8+ years of experience in design, with a focus on user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing design teams.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and expertise in visual design, interaction design, and user-centered design principles.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate design concepts and solutions.
- Strong understanding of design methodologies, processes, and best practices.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in designing for web and mobile platforms.
- Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Familiarity with design systems and design thinking methodologies.
- Passion for emerging technologies and a keen eye for innovative design trends.
