**Role Purpose**:
This role is responsible for managing, leading and developing an SME team, has full credit and operational risk oversight, and supports the formulation and implementation of strategy. This will include new client acquisition, portfolio and Risk-Weighted Asset (RWA) management, returns, for example. This role has full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility as a business head, as well as ensuring the delivery of fair outcomes for customers.The role holder will have client-facing and/or portfolio responsibilities.

- Head of SME will be located in Egypt
- The SME Head will lead the SME team transformation to achieve HSBC SME strategy aligning with Local regulator and Global HSBC SME strategy
- The SME Head will lead a team of bankers and will be responsible for delivering the SME strategy
- The SME Head will be acting as a change leader through this transformation of SME team and strategy, engaging with internal and external stakeholders for various Business initiatives including; digital initiatives, Fintech/e-commerce, and leveraging on our network.
**Job** **Responsibilities**:
- Lead the execution of business objectives to drive revenue and achieve the Annual Operating Plan targets and key performance indicators, whilst building a sustainable business model and growth in line with strategic plans through appropriate relationship building, customer contact plans and pipeline management for new and existing customers
- Provide overall relationship management for SME clients portoflio
- Lead the day to day SME clients, and develop access, relationships and insights into all relevant activities
- Responsible for providing direct support to Relationship Managers, delivering high quality service to the customer base
- Responsible for ensuring the bank aligns around our clients to deliver a high quality and robust service
- Build and maintain business relationships with clients in assigned area of responsibility
- Drive proactive collaboration with product partners, international colleagues, and other Global Businesses to deliver maximum value of HSBC products and services and to contribute to continued servicing of customer needs and deepening the existing relationships
- Manage and lead team of Divison Heads, Relationship Managers, Channel Acquisition and Credit Service Managers / Assistant relationship managers with a focus on recuriting top talents, providing guidance to the team and assuring tranining needs are met while overseeing professional development. Lead and motivate team to achieve a defined set of goals
- Increase market share and share of wallet for the portoflio
- Develop a strong understanding of HSBC’s credit policies and procedures and ensure strict adherence to these in partnership with risk colleagues
- In depth knowledge of the credit policies and responsible for the credit decisions/ approving credits for the customer base. Fully accountable for the credit direction which includes documentation, target market identification, due diligence and early problem recognition
- Full responsibility for the lending Journey from Client Contact to Limits Loading; disbursement and utilization.
- Be aware of the competitve landscape in the SME in Egypt an formulate strategic responses to geopolitical conditons
- Develop and maintain coporate banks franchise and client business/account plans
- Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk
- Ensure Compliance and KYC policies adhere to for customer base
- Provide honest, constructive and timely feedback to staff to drive a high performance culture.
- Lead a team aligned to a common purpose and HSBC values, and delivering fair outcomes for clients
Requirements
**Job** **Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 15 years post-graduate banking experience, preferrably with SME background
- Comprehensive knowledge of the SME business and its related products, local regulations and lending and credit approval process
- Strategic thinker and ability to re-align timeously in line with the market dicates
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Able to operate in a complex/ matrix organization
- Ability to drive business by aligning internal resources and decision makers
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- Managing a matrix

- Demonstrate experience with SME clients in the delivery of financing, trade and cash management products
- Demonstrate experience in making balanced risk judgements
- Relationship/stakeholder management with both internal and external stakeholders
- Master degrees is preferrable
- Approved Credit Course or relative certification
- Other courses relevant to the field
