The Senior Tax and Zakat Accountant is responsible for Develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the effective and optimal planning and management of the company's tax liabilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the completion and dispatch of all relevant statutory returns, ensuring accuracy.
  • Act as the company's principal adviser on all matters relating to taxation to ensure that the company's tax liabilities are optimized.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge of all current tax legislation and other matters which might impact on the company's tax liabilities.
  • Ensuring withholding tax related compliances including data compilation for monthly payments, quarterly returns.
  • Review tax calculates according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations by required deadlines.
  • Provide guidance to Accounting and other departments on any required tax adjustments. - Cooperates with tax advisors to optimize tax burdens.
  • Review the preparation of different tax declarations.
  • Preparing tax audits and ensure adequate documentation for tax audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or any relevant field.
  • 6 to 8 years of proven experience
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.
  • It is preferable for the candidate to have prior experience in the GCC region.
