team as a Firefighting & Plumbing Design Engineer

Location: Head Office – Nasr City

Job Code: MEP-FP-53-25

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: MEP Design

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Analysis:

-Design water supply, drainage, and firefighting systems for various building types.

-Conduct hydraulic calculations for pressure loss, pump sizing, and pipe network analysis.

-Select appropriate equipment such as pumps, tanks, sprinklers, valves, and fittings.

Documentation & BOQs:

-Develop detailed design drawings (plans, riser diagrams, schematics) and engineering reports.

-Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and scope of work documents.

Code Compliance & Standards:

-Ensure designs comply with international standards such as NFPA, IPC, UPC, and local SBC codes.

-Incorporate life safety, fire code, and environmental health standards into designs.

Coordination & Review:

-Collaborate effectively with electrical, HVAC, architectural, and structural disciplines.

-Participate in multidisciplinary reviews to ensure integrated and conflict-free designs.

Project Support:

-Contribute to all stages of design: concept, schematic, detailed design, and IFC.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:
B.Sc
. in Mechanical Engineering (Power or equivalent).

Experience: (3-4)years in firefighting and plumbing design in a consulting engineering firm.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of NFPA, IPC, SBC, and other relevant codes.

Skills: Hydraulic calculation, pump selection, system zoning, and design optimization.

Software Proficiency:

Required: AutoCAD, Revit, Elite Fire, Pipe Flow Expert or equivalent, Microsoft Office

Preferred: Navisworks (for clash detection)
