The Senior Merchandiser For Nillens & Onuo Brands
will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end production across selected categories. This role is highly hands-on and factory-based, ensuring production timelines, quality standards, and material usage are managed efficiently from order placement through final delivery.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working closely with external factories while coordinating internally with design, sourcing, and operations.

Key responsibilities

Production & Factory Management

●      Manage end-to-end production for assigned product categories, from sampling through bulk delivery

●      Visit factories regularly to:

○       Place production orders and issue official production instructions

○       Deliver required materials (fabrics, trims, packaging)

○       Track and record fabric deliveries and usage

●      Maintain strong working relationships with factories and suppliers to ensure adherence to timelines and standards

●      Track production progress at each stage and proactively follow up to avoid delays or quality issues

Sampling & Quality Control

●      Coordinate and follow up on sample development with multiple factories

●      Review samples for construction, fit, finishing, and overall quality against brand standards

●      Ensure all production meets agreed quality, finishing, labeling, and packaging requirements

●      Perform quality checks on finished goods upon receipt, including manual counting and verification where required

Materials & Fabric Control

●      Calculate fabric consumption per style and track leftover fabric

●      Reconcile fabric sent vs. finished goods received

●      Ensure efficient material usage and accurate record-keeping

Documentation & Systems

●      Prepare and manage:

○       Production orders

○       Delivery notes for samples, accessories, and bulk production

○       Agreed delivery timelines

○       Quality Control documentation

●      Create and manage Purchase Orders

●      Ensure all received items are accurately logged in SAP

●      Maintain clear production records and documentation

Brand & Process Alignment

●      Ensure brand guidelines and quality standards are clearly communicated to factories

●      Support continuous improvement in production processes, quality, and efficiency

Qualifications & Experience

●      Relevant educational background (Applied Arts – Fashion, Home Economics, or equivalent),
and/or
strong hands-on experience in production

●      
3–4 years
experience managing production with external factories and suppliers

○       Experience in
home products and/or apparel
is essential

●      
2–3 years
experience in quality control or production quality oversight

●      Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple styles and timelines simultaneously

●      High attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced, changing environment

●      Willingness to travel extensively within Cairo (3–4 days per week) to visit factories

●      Comfortable with physical aspects of the role (manual receiving, counting, checking goods when required)

●      Proficient in basic MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

●      Strong communication skills, positive attitude, and a proactive, hands-on mindset

●      Eager to learn, adapt, and grow within the role
