Role Overview

We are seeking a
Senior Design Engineer
to lead the technical design and documentation of solar PV systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You'll handle the full design cycle—from site surveys and feasibility assessments to as-built documentation—ensuring compliance with local regulations and utility requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct
    site surveys and feasibility assessments
    , including travel to project sites.
  • Design solar PV systems, including
    layout drawings, 3D models (SketchUp), PVsyst/PVsol simulations, single-line diagrams (SLD), cable calculations, and protection panel sizing
    .
  • Select suitable components and materials:
    PV modules, inverters, batteries, mounting systems, DC/AC cables, and switchgear
    .
  • Prepare
    technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
    for solar installations.
  • Perform
    energy yield assessments
    and shading analyses to optimize panel placement and system efficiency.
  • Design the
    electrical integration
    of solar power into existing infrastructure, ensuring compliance with
    local codes, standards, and grid-interconnection requirements
    .
  • Create and maintain
    as-built drawings
    , detailed project reports, and documentation for regulatory and permit approvals.
  • Collaborate with clients
    to understand energy goals, present design proposals, and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Provide
    ongoing technical support
    for installed systems as required.
  • Stay current with
    industry trends, technologies, and best practices
    in solar design and energy systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
    in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience
    in solar PV design and engineering.
  • Proficient in
    AutoCAD
    ,
    SketchUp
    , and
    PVsyst.
  • Strong understanding of
    electrical design principles
    , system sizing, and grid-connection standards.
  • Solid knowledge of
    PV components
    , system protection, and cabling.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and organized, able to manage multiple projects independently.
