The Accountant / Finance Officer is responsible for managing the company's daily financial operations, including banking activities, payments, accounting records, tax compliance, and financial reporting. The role ensures accuracy, compliance with Egyptian laws, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders to support sound financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Banking, Collections & Deposits

  • Manage all bank deposits and ensure accurate reconciliation with accounting records.
  • Monitor bank balances and prepare regular bank reconciliation statements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cash and bank transactions.

2. Payments & Disbursements

  • Organize, schedule, and execute company payments to suppliers, staff, and government entities.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and ensure all payments are supported by proper documentation and approvals.
  • Follow up on pending payments and ensure timely settlement.
  • Monitor cash flow and forecast upcoming financial obligations to ensure liquidity.

3. Accounting & Records Management

  • Record and update all financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
  • Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Track, reconcile, and follow up on accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

4. Taxation & Compliance

  • Organize and maintain all tax-related files, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and payroll tax.
  • Prepare and submit tax declarations and payments on time in compliance with Egyptian tax laws.
  • Coordinate with external accountants or tax consultants during audits, inspections, and tax reviews.
  • Maintain proper documentation and correspondence related to all tax matters.

5. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide management with accurate and timely reports on revenues, expenses, and cash flow.

6. Internal Control & Coordination

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial data and sensitive company information.
  • Support external auditors by providing required documents and explanations.
  • Coordinate with HR, Operations, and Procurement to ensure smooth financial processes.
  • Recommend improvements to accounting procedures and workflow efficiency.

7. General Tasks

  • Support and contribute to other administrative or team-related tasks as requested by Management when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles (experience in Egypt is essential).
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
