About the role:

We are seeking a Django Backend Developer with 3+ years of professional experience to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems, APIs, and database models using Django and Django REST Framework. In addition, this role involves leading and mentoring junior developers, ensuring code quality, and supporting the team in delivering robust and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and database schemas using Django/Django REST Framework.

  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code while ensuring best practices in software architecture and coding standards.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality features.

  • Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.

  • Mentor and support less-experienced developers in problem-solving and technical challenges.

  • Ensure proper integration with databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQLite) and optimize queries for performance.

  • Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices in backend systems.

  • Contribute to system design discussions, estimations, and technical planning.

  • Monitor, debug, and optimize backend performance and reliability.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in Django, Python, and backend development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of professional experience with Django.

  • Strong proficiency in Python and solid understanding of OOP principles.

  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM concepts.

  • Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab).

  • Knowledge of deployment and hosting (Docker, AWS, Heroku, or similar).

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and good leadership skills.
