Role Description

The Co-Founder & CTO is a highly entrepreneurial technical leader responsible for defining and executing the entire technology strategy, architecture, and engineering roadmap for Juphera's AI-powered regulatory platform.

This individual will transition the functional prototype into a secure, scalable Minimum Viable Product (MVP), lead the internal AI model development, and secure the company's technological foundation for investment and rapid scale.

The role requires a hands-on approach initially (
Technical Leader
), with a clear trajectory toward building and managing a world-class engineering team (
People Leader
) and representing the company's technology vision to investors and clients (
Executive Leader
).

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Technical Vision and Architecture
• Define and Execute Technical Roadmap:
  Own the end-to-end technical roadmap, aligning it with the product vision (MVP launch, pilot testing, Phase 2 features).
• System Architecture:
  Design and implement a robust, scalable, and modular software architecture (Python microservices preferred) to support high-volume data processing and complex AI integration.
• Core AI Development:
  Directly architect and build the core AI components, including the
  Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline
  , LLM prompt engineering framework, and specialized OCR/NLP models for regulatory document parsing and classification.
• Infrastructure & Security:
  Select, set up, and manage the cloud-native infrastructure (
  AWS preferred
  ) and vector database solution. Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.

• Hands-on Coding & QA:
  Serve as the lead engineer and principal architect, actively coding key components, setting engineering standards, conducting rigorous code reviews, and establishing QA/testing protocols.

• Regulatory Compliance and Security

• Data Security & Governance:
  Implement and enforce a comprehensive data security strategy from day one, adhering to global and regional regulatory standards (e.g.,
  HIPAA, GDPR, and MENA data privacy laws
  ).
• Compliance Framework:
  Establish the necessary technical processes and documentation to achieve high-security compliance (e.g., ISO-related controls) essential for winning large pharmaceutical enterprise contracts.

• Risk Management:
  Identify and mitigate technical risks related to data integrity, system vulnerabilities, and regulatory audit exposure.

• Business and Leadership Collaboration.

• Co-Founder Partnership:
  Work in lockstep with the Founder/CEO (Growth) and COO (Operations/Regulatory Domain) to translate market needs, user feedback, and regulatory domain expertise into actionable technical requirements.
• Investor and Stakeholder Communication:
  Clearly articulate the technology vision, competitive advantage of the AI/LLM models, and scalability plan to potential investors and strategic partners.

• Vendor Management:
  Manage external development vendors (for the current MVP phase), ensuring deliverables meet architectural standards and planning the seamless transition to an internal engineering team post-funding.

• Team Building and Culture

• Recruitment Strategy:
  Design the hiring plan and process for the engineering function (AI Engineers, Full Stack Developers, DevOps) following the pre-seed funding round.
• Engineering Culture:
  Define and foster a technical culture of velocity, quality, transparency, continuous learning, and security-first development practices.
• Mentorship:
  Mentor early engineering hires and build a technical leadership pipeline as the company scales.

Qualifications

Experience:
7+ years of progressive experience in software development and architectural leadership, with proven experience building and scaling complex applications (preferably in a high-security domain like FinTech, HealthTech, or RegTech).

AI/LLM Expertise:
Demonstrated ability to architect and deploy production-ready AI/ML systems, particularly in
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
, NLP, and model fine-tuning.

Technical Stack:
Expert proficiency in
Python (FastAPI/Django)
. Strong experience with frontend frameworks (

), cloud services (
AWS
), and database management (PostgreSQL/Vector DBs).

Security & Compliance:
Deep operational knowledge of best practices in data security, encryption, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA/GDPR standards).
