Job Summary:

The Senior Tendering Manager will lead the end-to-end tendering process, ensuring the company submits competitive, compliant, and high-quality bids. This role demands strategic thinking, advanced commercial acumen, and strong leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and maximize project win rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize tender opportunities aligned with company strategy.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of tenders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to client requirements.
  • Develop innovative and competitive tender strategies to increase win rates.
  • Oversee the costing and pricing of tenders, working closely with finance, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and ensure proposals meet profitability and compliance criteria.
  • Approve final tender submissions and ensure alignment with company commercial policies.
  • Manage and mentor tendering team members, delegating responsibilities and ensuring high performance.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, legal, finance, engineering) to collect necessary information for bids.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients during tendering, clarifying requirements and negotiating terms.
  • Maintain a centralized database of tenders, tracking deadlines, outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure all submissions comply with company standards, client specifications, and legal requirements.
  • Produce post-tender analysis reports to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to enhance tendering processes.
  • Implement improvements to templates, processes, and systems for efficiency and competitiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, or related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience
    in tendering, bidding, or commercial management, with a proven track record of winning large-scale projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of tendering processes, commercial contracts, and pricing strategies.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with tender management software is an advantage.
