Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Telecom Design and Tender Engineer located in Cairo, Egypt.
The Design & Tender Telecom Engineer is responsible for both technical design and cost estimation activities for telecom projects. The role requires reviewing project and tender documents, preparing high-quality telecom designs, conducting cost and pricing analysis, and ensuring competitive and timely bid submissions. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, efficient, and industry-compliant solutions that align with project objectives and client requirements.

Job Description

  • Review project documents, drawings, specifications, and tender requirements to define technical and cost needs.
  • Analyze and estimate project costs, including material, labor, and subcontracting expenses.
  • Develop detailed telecom designs (
    with emphasis on fiber optics and networks)
    that comply with standards and client expectations.
  • Prepare cost breakdowns, including current prices of raw materials and accessories, ensuring continuous updates to price databases.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of tenders and bids.
  • Coordinate with sales, the technical office, factories, planning, and project teams to validate design and cost against commercial strategy.
  • Maintain high-quality design and estimation output, ensuring Right First Time (RFT) delivery.
  • Support post-sales and execution teams with technical design insights and cost clarifications.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Telecommunication / Communication Engineering
    or a related engineering field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in telecom design, tendering, and cost estimation.
  • Strong knowledge of
    telecom networks, fiber optics, and project design methodologies
    .
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant telecom engineering/design tools.
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently under tight timelines.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous professional growth.
