Detailed Roles and Responsibilities1. Preparation and Review of Engineering Drawings – Pools & Fountains

  • Preparing
    Shop Drawings
    for swimming pools, fountains, and water features (waterfalls).
  • Developing detailed drawings, including:
  • Pool Structural Details
  • Waterproofing Details
  • Pump Room Layout
  • Piping Layout
    (suction, discharge, return lines)
  • Manifolds, jets, nozzles, inlets, drains
  • Reviewing architectural, structural, and hydraulic drawings to ensure there are no conflicts.

2. Hydraulic System Design (Hydraulic Calculations)

  • Calculating pipe diameters based on
    flow rate
    and
    head loss
    .
  • Performing calculations for:
  • Filtration systems
  • Circulation systems
  • Balance tank sizing
  • Pump selection
  • Waterfall flow rates
  • Reviewing submittals for filters, pumps, skimmers, UV systems, and chemical dosing systems.

3. Technical Submittals Management

  • Preparing and obtaining approval for:
  • Material Submittals
  • Method Statements
  • Technical Data Sheets
  • Preparing RFIs to resolve discrepancies between design and execution.
  • Preparing
    As-Built Drawings
    after project completion.

4. Quantity Surveying & Invoicing

  • Quantity take-off for:
  • Pool concrete works
  • Waterproofing works
  • PVC/HDPE piping
  • Mechanical fittings (valves, pumps, accessories)
  • Preparing the company's monthly invoices.
  • Reviewing subcontractors' invoices and verifying executed quantities.

5. Technical Coordination

  • Full coordination with:
  • Architectural works (finishing levels, pool edges, overflow channels)
  • Structural works (slabs, rafts, beams)
  • MEP works (pump room electrical connections, underwater lighting)
  • Attending technical meetings with the consultant and main contractor.

6. Site Execution Support

  • Ensuring proper execution of:
  • Waterproofing levels
  • Hydraulic network routing
  • Pump room installation and accessories
  • Testing & commissioning processes
  • Conducting:
  • Pressure tests
  • Leakage tests
  • Function tests
  • Solving technical issues during execution and issuing approved engineering solutions.

7. Quality and Standards

  • Ensuring compliance with standards such as:
  • BS EN 13451
  • APSP Standards
  • ASME A112
  • Ensuring quality of:
  • Water-resistant concrete
  • Waterproofing systems (PVC, EPDM, Polyurea, Cementitious)
  • Pressure pipes and their specifications (Schedule 80/40)

Required SkillsTechnical Skills

  • Strong experience in designing and executing
    swimming pools and water features
    .
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; Revit and BIM is a plus.
  • Excellent ability in hydraulic calculations.
  • Strong understanding of filtration, circulation, and backwash systems.
  • Experience in quantity surveying and invoicing.
  • Ability to prepare detailed and complex shop drawings.

Personal Skills

  • High accuracy and attention to technical details.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with all project stakeholders.
  • Fast and professional problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5–10 years
    of experience, with at least
    3 years in swimming pools and fountains
    .
  • Preferred experience in:
  • Hotels and resorts
  • Malls
  • Landscaping and gardens
  • Private villas
