1- Budget Control Specialist Job Purpose

To monitor and analyze budget performance against actual expenditures, ensure all departments comply with approved limits, and assist in the budgeting and financial forecasting process.

Key Responsibilities

·
Financial Monitoring and Analysis:

o   Continuously compare actual expenditures against budgeted amounts (
Budget vs. Actual Analysis
).

o   Identify and analyze significant variances in revenue and expenditure, providing clear explanations to departmental management and senior leadership.

o   Review and audit purchase and expense requests to ensure they are within the department's approved budget.

Reporting:

o   Prepare detailed monthly/quarterly reports on the budget status for each department and the overall company.

o   Develop and maintain dashboards for key performance indicators related to the budget.

·
Annual Budget Support:

o   Assist in compiling data and preparing the annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with department managers.

o   Enter and update approved budgets into the company's financial system.

·
Forecasting and Adjustments:

o   Participate in financial forecasting and periodic budget re-forecasting processes.

o   Assist in processing requests for budget transfers between line items.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are preferred.

·
Experience:
Minimum of (2-3) years of practical experience in budget preparation, monitoring, or financial analysis.

Technical Skills:

o   Deep understanding of accounting and financial principles.

o   Strong experience using financial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

o   Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including financial functions, Pivot Tables, and data modelling).
