Senior Fundraising Specialist

Job Description

The Fundraising Senior Specialist will play a key role in identifying and securing financial resources through donor engagement, proposal development, and strategic partnerships with governments, international organizations, financial institutions, and private sector actors. The position aims to ensure diversified and sustainable funding streams for RCREEE's programs and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

A.

Resource Mobilization Strategy

·       Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and donor engagement strategy aligned with RCREEE's Strategic Plan.

·       Identify and prioritize funding opportunities across bilateral, multilateral, regional, and private sector sources.

·       Map potential donors and funding mechanisms aligned with RCREEE's thematic areas, including Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Transition, Low-carbon hydrogen, energy access, and climate finance.

B. Donor Relations and Proposal Development

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and partners aligned with RCREEE's priorities and values through strategic engagement initiatives and tailored proposals.

·       Coordinate and develop concept notes, technical proposals, and grant applications in collaboration with technical teams.

·       Tailor funding applications to match donor priorities and RCREEE's programmatic offerings.

C. Fundraising Campaigns and Partnership Building

·       Develop funding partnerships with the governments, international organizations, financial institutions, and private sector actors, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, energy companies, and green finance institutions.

·       Support RCREEE's participation in global and regional events to increase visibility and attract investment.

·       Support the Centre's efforts in collaborating with member states and national focal points to co-develop and co-finance regional initiatives.

D. Monitoring, Reporting, and Knowledge Management

·       Track fundraising performance, donor feedback, and proposal success rates to refine strategies.

·       Maintain a donor database and calendar of funding opportunities.

·       Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements and contribute to high-quality narrative and financial reporting.

Requirements and Competencies

Minimum qualification requirements:

·       Advanced University degree (master's level) in business administration, public management, development studies, international relations, project management, communication, marketing or other fields relevant to partnerships building is a must.

·       At least 7 years of experience in fundraising, proposal writing, business development, or donor relations in the nonprofit or development sector.

·       At least 5 years of experience in fundraising in an international organization.

·       Perfect command of English and Arabic. French is an asset.

·       Proven track record in securing institutional funding, particularly from international organizations, regional development partners, and philanthropy organizations.

·       Experience in managing donor relationships in a regional/multilateral organization.

·       Strong proposal writing, presentation skills, and grant management skills.

·       Strong knowledge of funding mechanisms from the EU, UN agencies, World Bank, GCF, GIZ, etc.

·       Knowledge of the energy and climate landscape in the MENA Region.

·       Regional awareness and ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders inside and outside the Centre,

·       Strong organizational and project management abilities with Excellent IT and analytical skills,

·       Results-oriented, proactive mindset and ability to work on performance-based targets,

·       Familiarity with RCREEE member states and national energy strategies.

General Terms and Conditions

The Candidate is required to work from RCREEE's Cairo office.

Coordination with multidisciplinary technical teams within RCREEE.

Occasional travel regionally and globally may be required.

Tenure of Appointment

The initial appointment will be for 12 months including a 3-month probation period.

Contract extension will be subject to performance, needs, and availability of funds from the projects.
