Estimation & Design Engineer – LV MV & Busduct Systems

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Estimation & Design Engineer
with experience in Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV) systems, and
Busduct Systems
. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive technical and commercial offers by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and tender documents, primarily for projects related to power distribution and control panels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze technical specifications, single line diagrams (SLD), layouts, and BOQs for LV/MV switchgear and busbar systems.
  • Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for LV panels (MDB, SMDB, DB), MV switchgear, and busbar trunking systems.
  • Coordinate with sales, design, and procurement teams to obtain cost data, supplier quotations, and technical clarifications.
  • Ensure compliance with standards (IEC, ANSI) and client requirements during estimation.
  • Perform value engineering to offer cost-effective solutions.
  • Attend technical meetings with clients or consultants when required for offer clarification.
  • Keep updated databases of cost elements including materials, labor, and subcontracting.
  • Identify and assess project risks and opportunities related to the pricing strategy.
  • Support in handover to project execution teams upon contract award.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the estimation of LV/MV switchgear and busbar systems, preferably in a manufacturing or EPC environment.
  • Good knowledge of electrical components (breakers, relays, busbars, panels).
  • Strong understanding of switchgear design, protection schemes, and installation practices.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation tools (ERP knowledge is a plus).
  • Good communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
