Job Title: IoT & Embedded Engineer

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled IoT & Embedded Engineer who can design, develop, and deploy embedded systems and IoT solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, communication protocols, and cloud integration. You will work closely with our product and hardware teams to build smart, scalable, and reliable IoT applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers (ARM, ESP32, STM32, AVR, etc.).

  • Integrate and test sensors, actuators, and communication modules (BLE, Wi-Fi, GSM, LoRa, Zigbee, RFID).

  • Develop IoT device architecture including hardware–software integration.

  • Work with protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, CoAP, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.

  • Build prototypes, perform debugging, and optimize system performance.

  • Collaborate with hardware engineers for PCB design, power optimization, and component selection.

  • Develop scripts/tools for testing and automation.

  • Integrate IoT devices with cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud, Firebase, etc.).

  • Ensure device security, scalability, and OTA updates.

  • Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and test reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of embedded C/C++, RTOS, and microcontroller programming.

  • Experience with IoT communication protocols and device connectivity.

  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems, shell scripting, and embedded debugging tools.

  • Hands-on experience with development tools: Keil, STM32Cube, Arduino, ESP-IDF, PlatformIO, etc.

  • Good understanding of hardware basics: schematics, sensors, power management.

  • Ability to analyze problems and find effective solutions quickly.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Experience with AI/ML on edge devices (TensorFlow Lite, Edge Impulse).

  • Knowledge of PCB design tools like Altium, Eagle, KiCad.

  • Experience with OTA firmware updates.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for IoT devices.

  • Prior work on large-scale IoT deployments.
