About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Costing Manager with specialized expertise in SAP to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product costing, inventory valuation, and cost analysis. Your deep understanding of SAP CO (Controlling) and PP (Production Planning) modules will be crucial in driving cost efficiency, improving profitability, and providing accurate financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost System Management:
    Oversee and maintain the product costing system within SAP, ensuring accuracy in standard cost rolls, material price updates, and routing updates.
  • Product Costing:
    Lead the quarterly/annual standard cost update process in SAP. Calculate and validate cost estimates for new products, engineering changes, and existing items.
  • Cost Analysis & Reporting:
    Analyze manufacturing variances (Purchase Price Variance, Material Usage Variance, and Production Order Variance) and report on cost trends, providing actionable insights to operations and management.
  • Inventory Valuation:
    Manage and control inventory valuation, including overhead application and WIP (Work in Process) and finished goods valuation in SAP.
  • Management Reporting:
    Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analysis by product line, customer, or project to aid in management decision-making.
  • Process Improvement:
    Continuously identify and implement process improvements within the SAP system to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of costing and related financial data.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with Procurement, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to validate cost assumptions, review BOMs (Bills of Material), and optimize production routings.
  • Team Leadership:
    Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cost accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CMA, CPA, or similar certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of costing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mandatory:
    Proven, hands-on experience with SAP ERP system, specifically with the CO (Controlling) and MM (Materials Management) modules. Experience with SAP PP is a strong plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of Bills of Material (BOMs), Routings, and Work Centers in a manufacturing context.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
