Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Team within a leading Saudi engineering consulting company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing mechanical systems design, performing calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and providing technical support to project and site teams throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems (BAS) for various projects.

* Perform and review mechanical calculations for heating and cooling loads, hydraulic analysis, pipe sizing, and equipment selection.

* Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

* Ensure all mechanical designs comply with Saudi Building Code (SBC), international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC), and local civil defense and municipality requirements.

* Provide technical guidance and support to site teams, addressing construction queries, reviewing submittals, and conducting site inspections.

* Collaborate closely with architectural, structural, and electrical teams to ensure fully integrated and coordinated design solutions.

* Lead the technical review of contractor submissions and participate in design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.

* Stay current with emerging technologies, energy efficiency standards, and best practices in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications & Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).

* Professional Engineering (PE) or equivalent chartership/license is highly desirable.

* 8–12 years of proven experience in mechanical design, preferably with engineering consulting firms in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.

* Strong proficiency in mechanical design and simulation software (e.g., HAP, Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Pipe-Flo).

* In-depth knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC), local civil defense regulations, and authority submission procedures.

* Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
