Department: TechnologyLocation: Cairo, EgyptEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: CTO / Tech LeadThe DevOps Architect & Infrastructure Lead will define the technical foundation of Collard's infrastructure and will directly influence system reliability, performance, scalability, and security. This role is critical for supporting Collard's expansion across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Portugal, and additional markets.⸻Role OverviewCollard is building a high-performance, multi-region events and fintech ecosystem capable of supporting 20,000+ concurrent users across multiple countries. The DevOps Architect & Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the entire infrastructure from the ground up.This is a foundational role. The candidate will own the full cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, observability stack, security posture, and reliability standards for all Collard products. The ideal individual has previously built large-scale, production-grade infrastructure and can operate with full autonomy, accountability, and technical leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Architecture & Implementation• Design and build Collard's complete cloud infrastructure from scratch using AWS.• Architect highly available, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems across multiple regions.• Implement and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform.• Define and maintain development, staging, and production environments.CI/CD Engineering• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.• Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies (blue-green, canary).• Automate build, test, deployment, rollback, and environment provisioning processes.Observability and Monitoring• Set up and manage monitoring and alerting using Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, and ELK/Loki stacks.• Define SLIs, SLOs, and alert policies for all microservices.• Provide real-time visibility into system performance, uptime, latency, and failures.Security and Compliance• Implement AWS security best practices and IAM hardening.• Manage secrets, credentials, and key rotation using AWS Secrets Manager or Vault.• Enforce network segmentation, VPC design, WAF rules, and DDOS protection.• Maintain audit trails and ensure compliance with financial and operational security standards.Performance and Scalability• Prepare the platform for high-traffic scenarios, including large event spikes.• Conduct load and stress testing, define performance budgets, and optimize bottlenecks.• Implement efficient caching, CDN configuration, queueing systems, and autoscaling rules.Reliability and Disaster Recovery• Define and maintain disaster recovery strategies with RPO < 5 minutes and RTO < 15 minutes.• Implement automated backup, failover, and multi-AZ resilience mechanisms.• Perform regular failover simulations and reliability testing.Cost Optimization• Monitor and optimize AWS resource usage and infrastructure expenses.• Implement auto-scaling, resource rightsizing, reserved instances, and cost governance best practices.Cross-Team Collaboration• Work directly with backend, frontend, and mobile development teams to define requirements.• Provide guidance on service architecture, deployment readiness, and operational standards.• Establish DevOps best practices across the company and assist in mentoring future hires.Minimum Qualifications•7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.•Demonstrated experience building and operating large-scale, high-availability systems.•Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, Route53).•Mastery of Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows.•Strong proficiency with Docker and containerized architecture.•Experience designing CI/CD pipelines from the ground up.•Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, DNS, load balancing, and TLS.•Proven track record in security hardening and cloud infrastructure compliance.•Experience with monitoring and logging stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch).•Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause analysis capabilities.⸻Preferred Qualifications•Experience in fintech, payments, or PCI-compliant environments.•Experience with event-driven or real-time systems.•Familiarity with multi-region deployments.•Experience with chaos engineering or resilience testing.•Knowledge of Kubernetes, service mesh, or advanced networking.⸻Key Competencies• Strong architectural thinking.• High ownership and accountability.• Ability to operate independently and under pressure.• Strong communication and documentation skills.• Proactive problem solver with a focus on automation and reliability.If interested pls send us your CV to
