Job Description:

Dar Al-Handasah
is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Structural Engineer
with 5-7 years of experience to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will lead and oversee structural design and BIM coordination, taking responsibility for the overall project design process. They will utilize advanced software tools to analyse and design complex structural systems. This role involves close collaboration with other engineers and architects to deliver high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective structural designs.

The candidate will work closely with our Dubai-based team on iconic and forward-thinking projects throughout the Gulf region, Middle East, and Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Create initial design concepts that meet the project's structural and architectural aesthetic requirements.
  • Perform structural analysis and design using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and interns.
  • Optimize designs for cost, performance, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Participate in project planning, discussions, and client meetings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve structural engineering problems encountered during the design process.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, software, and technologies in structural engineering.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during the design and construction phases.
  • Conduct in-depth design reviews and technical approvals as required, ensuring adherence to regulations and design guidelines.
  • Ensure that engineering and design learnings are shared and implemented across all projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and technical findings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on analysis and design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, or similar.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C#, or similar for developing custom analysis tools is a plus.
  • Experience in the Gulf, UAE market, and knowledge of local authority requirements.
  • Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.
