Operations & Logistics Supervisor

Supervise daily operations and logistics activities at the assigned river port in South Sudan.

• Scheduling shipping and delivery operations.
• Ensuring timely shipment and delivery of goods.
• Supervising the transportation of goods from one location to another and arranging their receipt and delivery with shipping companies accordingly.
• Building relationships with various entities, international organizations in South Sudan, and governmental agencies to ensure the smooth running of operations and the timely transportation of shipments.
• Supervises and directs work teams, including ground crews and marine unit workers, ensures effective task allocation, and trains and evaluates their performance.
• Ensures safety and quality. Ensures compliance with occupational safety regulations, oversees the implementation of quality standards, and ensures the safety of goods during transport and loading.
• Supervise all employees, including operations staff and technicians, to ensure optimal loading and unloading operations.
• Submit reports on loading and unloading trips to top management.
• Follow up on the collection of the company's financial dues related to loading and unloading trips.

• Ensure that all parties work together to ensure shipments are packed, dispatched, and delivered on time.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.

• Proven track record in supervising logistics or operations teams, preferably in a port or transportation environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated experience in inventory management and stock control.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements in logistics operations.
• Proficiency in using logistics management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to be based in South Sudan and adapt to local working conditions.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs and related applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent planning, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to train, motivate, and manage diverse team members to work together toward the same goals.
