This role involves managing and supervising the electrostatic painting process on the production line, along with overseeing the associated laboratory activities. The engineer ensures that paint formulations, equipment setup, and application processes meet quality standards, production targets, and safety requirements.

Role Description

  • Manage and supervise the electrostatic paint application process, including preparation, operation, and maintenance of electrostatic spray equipment.
  • Oversee the laboratory activities related to paint preparation, testing, and quality control, ensuring paint viscosity, color formulation, and other specifications are precisely met.
  • Monitor paint application parameters such as voltage settings, spray patterns, and coverage to optimize efficiency and finish quality.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests on paint samples and coated products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain paint inventory, prepare chemical mixtures, and ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations within the paint line and laboratory areas.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to meet production goals and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven
    3+ years of experience
    with electrostatic painting processes and coating chemistry.
  • Strong knowledge of paint formulations, electrostatic spray technology, and industrial coating applications.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing techniques and quality control procedures for paints.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under production demands.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to paint handling and electrostatic equipment.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of health, safety, environmental standards, and legal compliance applicable to the industry.

Skills

  • Proficient in operating and adjusting electrostatic spray guns and related equipment.
  • Capable of analyzing test results and adjusting formulations or process parameters accordingly.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to train and guide other operators or technicians in paint and lab procedures.
