ELDS Operations Manager

**Your role and responsibilities**:
In this role, you will be responsible to lead a function focused on the optimization of the Production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment in cooperation with Production manage-ment and Research and Development (R&D). The work model for this role (onsite) This role is contributing to Electrification Business Area based in Cairo Egypt. You will be mainly accountable for: -Ensuring that the production processes align with the project targets, approving the design, both for internal or external developed processes and performing the final test in accordance with the project’s data. -Ensuring the efficiency of all external production processes. -Defining production costs and the sequence of the working phases of a new production process to minimize cost and maximize quality. -Developing and proposing the estimated budget of investments necessary for the development of new products and processes. -Supporting the Supply Chain Management department in selecting suppliers, evaluating the technology and capacity, and determining the best option. -Cooperating with R&D or international teams in the optimization of technical standards and supports engineers in the definition or configuration of new design rules. -Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost. -Ensuring all staff (under scope) understand ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and act accordingly. -Implementing and ensuring compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes in their assigned area. -Ensuring adherence to all internal and statutory regulations and policies pertaining to the teams in scope. -Ensuring integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities across all teams in scope. -Accountable for the health and safety of all employees and contractors for the teams in scope, and continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) processes and integrity performance. -Promoting and enabling collaboration in the division, across divisions, business areas, and teams to maximize results for ABB. -Providing guidance to the teams and seeking knowledge for their own development and coach-ing/mentoring of the teams. -Managing relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensures alignment. -Ensuring that their own area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed. -Inspiring, guiding, motivating, and developing direct and indirect reports within HR policies. -Building effective, competent, and high-performing teams. -Reviewing organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades.

**Qualifications for the role**:

- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical/Production or Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent Industry Certification
- 10 years as a Manufacturing/Industrial/Process Engineer (at least 3 of them as a manager), with shop floor background.
- Knowledge and exposure to ERP system SAP is preferrable. Statistical Process Control/Six Sigma
- Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple tasks-Efficient time management
- Good leadership capabilities with a team-oriented attitude, written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Experienced use of Microsoft Applications, Parametric (3D) CAD Knowledge / exposure CAM Knowledge / exposure
- Exposure to world class manufacturing and assembly techniques and methodologies (automo-tive, transformer and/or consumer electronics manufacturing industry)
- Sheet metal CNC equipment, semi-automated assembly techniques and/or cellular manufacturing.
- Exposure to kanbans, pull production and statistical quality control/Six Sigma
- Knowledge of Time in Motion techniques such as MTM and/or MOST
- Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems.
- Familiar with cost calculations, ROI, cost saving initiatives.
- Familiar with energy management, renewable energy is preferable.
- Fluency in both English & Arabic language is mandatory.
