**Sr. Church Affairs Specialist**

**Purpose of the Job**

This role is instrumental in strengthening Coptic Orphans' collaboration with church leadership and clergy by cultivating deep, trust-based relationships. It plays a key role in supporting program-related initiatives, facilitating the successful execution of organizational strategic goals, and mentoring junior staff to enhance institutional engagement with the Church.

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
- Support the Advisor in implementing strategic initiatives and addressing high-level challenges.
- Handle complex clergy interactions, including addressing sensitive issues with professionalism, and discretion.
- Prepare detailed reports and newsletters for clergy, offering insights on program impact, engagement updates, and key developments.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of key departmental publications, ensuring they meet high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Church Affairs Specialists on operational activities.
- Act as a representative for the department in cross-functional organizational meetings.
- Represent Coptic Orphans by attending events hosted by other Coptic organizations.
- Assist in raising awareness among internal departments about the Church Affairs role and promote a unified approach to engaging the Church for the implementation of various programs.

**Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
- Bachelor's degree in Theology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of professional experience managing highly sensitive and influential stakeholders which require strategic relationship-building, long-term engagement built on trust and diplomacy, and a deep understanding of their authority, influence, and expectations, along with the ability to navigate complex dynamics with discretion.
- Extensive experience in church service, demonstrating a strong ability to influence decision-making, drive service development, and cultivate meaningful, long-term relationships within the Church community.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Experience in mentoring, coaching and professional development of junior staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

**Travel and Working requirements**
- The role involves substantial local travel, with up to 75% of time spent traveling.
- Work is typically performed in an office environment, involving activities such as walking, sitting, typing, using public transportation, and occasionally lifting boxes or luggage.
- Flexibility is required to work outside regular hours and on weekends as needed.
