This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to prevent and treat substance abuse in Member States.

Job Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for assessing the current regional situation of substance use and developing a strategic approach to assist Member States in prevention and treatment. This includes enhancing capacities to develop and implement evidence-informed policies and legislations, providing technical support and advice, and planning and conducting capacity building activities.

The ideal candidate will have advanced university degree in Clinical Psychology or Psychiatry, at least 7 years of relevant experience, and expert knowledge of international policy frameworks for reduction of public health problems related to substance use.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the current regional situation of substance use and develop a strategic approach to assist Member States in prevention and treatment
  • Enhance capacities to develop and implement evidence-informed policies and legislations
  • Provide technical support and advice to Member States
  • Plan and conduct capacity building activities
Requirements
  • Advanced university degree in Clinical Psychology or Psychiatry
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of international policy frameworks for reduction of public health problems related to substance use
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $77,326 - $109,590 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the salary, the Organization offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and paid annual leave.
