Job Overview:
The World Health Organization is seeking a skilled professional to support the development of resilient health systems in Eastern Mediterranean Member States. The successful candidate will work closely with country offices and national authorities to strengthen health systems and promote universal health coverage.

About the Role:
This position involves providing technical advice to regional programs and country offices on UHC/health systems and life course specific activities. The incumbent will also liaise with country offices and national authorities to ensure the implementation and monitoring of health systems and health programs against relevant SDG indicators.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance to regional programs and country offices on UHC/health systems and life course specific activities
- Liaise with country offices and national authorities to ensure the development, implementation, and monitoring of health systems and health programs against relevant SDG indicators
- Participate in task forces, thematic groups, and other forums to provide technical support to country offices
- Manage the delivery of technical support to global and regional projects at the national level towards achieving universal health coverage
- Conduct capacity building for Member States on monitoring SDG-UHS-relevant indicators and institutional reporting
- Initiate funding proposals to donors and partners to mobilize funds for regional and national health systems projects to achieve universal health coverage

Requirements:
Education:
Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in medicine or public health or health sciences or health care management. A postgraduate degree in Health Systems Development and/or Health Management or related field is desirable.

Experience:
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in public health, health sector coordination, health systems, and healthcare services. Proven international exposure is essential.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of public health in relation to health systems for UHC and health security
- Excellent knowledge of country-level situations regarding health systems development and management, with a good understanding of relevant country needs and priorities
- Ability to manage projects and prepare reports according to donor requirements
- Ability to prepare capacity-building programs and materials
- Ability to function effectively in a team setting within a cross-cultural and multi-sectoral environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of WHO and UN programs
- Excellent presentation skills

Additional Information:
- Salary: USD 70,212 per annum (subject to mandatory deductions)
- Benefits include annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children
