System Administrator

The System Administrator is responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and related systems. They will manage and maintain computer systems, implement security measures, and provide technical support to end-users. The System Administrator will work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure the continuous availability and performance of critical systems._
- 1. Manage and maintain servers, workstations, and other IT equipment, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting._
- 2. Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance._
- 3. Perform regular backups, data recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning to protect against data loss._
- 4. Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, access controls, and patch management, to safeguard against cyber threats._
- 5. Upgrade and patch software and systems to ensure the latest security updates and functionality._
- 6. Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting languages and tools to improve efficiency._
- 7. Provide technical support and training to end-users, including troubleshooting, resolving issues, and documenting IT processes._
- 9. Stay up to date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure._
- 10. Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades._
- 11. Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies, procedures, and standards._
- 12. Assist with the procurement and deployment of new hardware and software._
- 13. Take responsibility for projects and solutions within the larger business initiative_
- 14. Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in the global marketplace_
- 15. Enable faster and smarter business processes, and develop analytics for meaningful insights_
- 16. Work with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements_
- 17. Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and processes._
- 18. Provide on-call support during non-business hours for critical systems or emergency situations._
- 19. Mentor and train junior system administrators or IT support staff._
- 20. Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets._
- 21. Manage licensing agreements and software renewals._
- 22. Assist in IT budget planning and cost optimization initiatives._
**Requirements**:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 3-5 years of experience in system administration or a related IT role.
3. Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, and/or macOS) and their administration.
4. Proficient in server management, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
5. Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms.
6. Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
7. Familiarity with security best practices, including firewalls, access controls, and vulnerability management.
8. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective support to end-users.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
12. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices.
13. Industry certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, Linux+) are preferred.
