Fire Guard

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- Responds to fire alarms and performs designated tasks to suppress fire, rescue and preserve life, and protect property.
- Drives and operates pumping apparatus and specialized vehicles assigned to the fire department.
- Assists in maintaining fire apparatus and equipment, fire stations, and grounds. Performs cleanup after fire has been extinguished.
- Maintains and updates daily access logs, ensuring compliance with program safety policies and procedures.
- Inspects vehicles and materials prior to accessing site compound to ensure the safety of those on site.
- Escorts visitors on site; ensuring visitors only access required areas.
- Stands guard duty at compound gates and other locations; provides other security services as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Must have knowledge of English and Arabic, verbal and written.
- Must have basic computer operating skills to include basic user level with Microsoft Office.
- Capability to interact with different levels of incidents.

**Experience & Education**:

- Diploma from an accredited Technical School or Institute.
- National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) fire fighter certification or Egyptian/International equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Fire Fighter in an organized fire department; and successfully pass the related medical examination.
- Must have a valid ARE driver’s license.

**Physical Requirements/Working Environment**:

- Normal working conditions at the assignment location.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

**Travel**:

- Ability to travel domestically.
