**Job Specification**:
This role is the day-to-day project management of the multi-functional team and the successful operational and profitable delivery of the events. The role encompasses the following key aspects: sales management, development of the events aligned with the wider divisional strategy; marketing, content, and operational direction; strategy and industry positioning/brand enhancement. P&L management is also a key part of the role, here the Event Director effectively manages costs to deliver the target revenues, contribution and KPI's for sales team.

**Role Summary**:
**Management**
- Lead and manage a team to develop and successful delivery of our existing events in the portfolio
- Manage the event specific P&L's, setting budgets, scheduling, and resourcing in tandem with the PD
- Ensure all targets are met and or exceeded through direct or indirect support and intervention
- Submit timely and accurate reporting
- Identify new event ideas or profiles for existing events that provide additional revenue streams
- Lead and develop relationships with key market-players across the entire value-chain
- Steer and set up meeting with all relevant teams in line with the event planning and communication framework
- Accurately forecasts and maximises revenues and manages costs across a portfolio of events
- Help coach and mentor team members to enable them to reach their full potential. Supports team members in achieving developmental goals

**SPEX**
- Ensures a high-quality value propositions, sales plans, and sales briefs
- Ensures the CRM (Sales Force) is used effectively within the team to drive accurate forecasting and maximise revenue performance
- Effective pipeline management with weekly check-ins with the sales team to review, validate and test pipelines
- Sets targets for sales campaigns and monitors activity and revenue milestones to their achievement
- Acquire and manage the agent network, ensuring that the agents are supported and are meeting the targets set for them

**Content and stakeholder relations**
- Work with the content producer to plan, monitor and research the development of content programs
- Creates and develops new ideas / special features for the events cluster
- Monitors competitive event strategies and looks for opportunities to further develop the events in the cluster
- Manages and builds relationships with the ministries, government and other key stakeholders and industry associations
- Hosts Advisory Board meetings at least once a year
- Understands and monitors supplier relationships

**Marketing**
- Oversees the development of the marketing strategy and marketing objectives for the events
- Works closely with the marketing team to deliver a quality target audience and improve the overall look and feel of the event
- Ensures marketing deliverables and branding are in line with the events brand guidelines and dmg events' branding standards
- Oversees database development in conjunction with the data team
- Oversees the delivery of technical event solutions - exhibitor and visitor registration, online floor plan, event apps, exhibitor manual and matchmaking solutions

**Operations**
- Oversee the operational preparations for the event and ensure these are delivered and at a high standard and with eye on customer satisfaction
- Works with Ops in controlling costs whilst managing to ensure the highest standards of look, feel and customer experience on the show floor

**Minimum Experience**:

- 5-7 years' experience within events
- 3-5 years people management experience
