Job Requirements:

- Work with others, including other members of Key stage 2 Team, to plan and coordinate work both in the indoor and outdoor environment.
- Provide pastoral care and support to children and provide them with a secure and safe environment for learning.
- Supporting the development of children's basic skills, in line with the requirements of the Primary school.
- Organise learning materials, resources and make imaginative use of those resources.
- Encourage children's mathematical, language and literacy skills and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing, imaginative and creative play.
- Support and develop children's curiosity and knowledge.
- Motivate and stimulate the children's learning abilities, encouraging learning through experience, both teacher directed and child initiated.
- Share knowledge gained with other members of the upper primary School team and parents.
- Observing, assessing and recording each child's progress in line with the upper primary school requirements. Planning for the child’s Next Steps in line with observations.
- Liaising with parents, re their child’s social, emotional and educational welfare and development.
- Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the Primary school building.
- Keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.
- Attend in-service training/attend weekend activities when required.
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities programme.

Job Requirements:
