**Position overview**:
In order to be an effective partner, they shall be able to provide innovative solutions within the legal framework, challenge the status quo and to supply beyond their specific area of expertise.

The Legal Counsel will be part of the global J&J Law Department. They will collaborate in the market of responsibility and to the assigned tasks in autonomy and shall efficiently work in “virtual” teams and cross-functional working groups, forging relationships with business colleagues and other J&J Law Department members in the region and globally.

**They will have frequent contact with**:

- The Janssen Leadership Team of the operations and the project leads for the assigned special project/s
- The Emerging Markets legal team, including the attorneys based at the regional hub in Dubai
- The broader Janssen EMEA team.

The entry level of the resource will be eventually tailored on the basis of the profile of the resource eventually identified.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**:

- Advising, transactions, coordination of dispute resolution and litigation, training of non
- legal specialists, staying updated on major developments of relevant local laws and regulations
- A potential broad range of legal fields: commercial and contracts, trade-sanctions, employment, advertising, corporate, IP and regulatory law
- Be an active team member of cross-functional projects within the region
- Be actively engaged in the external environment, supporting the company in the key
- initiatives and discussion with the partners and institutions
- Supply to both the strategic discussions and operative support to the business
- Compliance, acting as the legal “touch
- point” of the day by day operations
- Efficiently partner with the J&J external counsels

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Law degree, acquired with excellent results, supplementary degree or LLM abroad considered as a plus
- Influential skills combined with social intelligence are vital to reliably fulfil this daring role
- Excellent written and oral skills in English, any further language will be considered as a plus
- The variety of the partners and businesses involved require also to be a strong communicator
- Between 6 and 8 years of relevant legal experience, gained: In providing legal support as in-house counsel in a sophisticated and sizeable organization
- As attorney in a primary law firm, where they were used to being directly exposed to local and international clients and to supply to their business in a fast paced environment
- Experience in the health
- care or FMCG industry
- Previous exposure to external affairs activities, in the context of trade -associations, negotiations with Public Authorities or in the context of public -affairs projects
- Activities in compliance -related matters, familiarity with international anti-corruption regulation (especially in terms of compliance with US/FCPA) and/ or with Trade
- sanctions will be considered as an asset
- Have strong communication and inter-personal skills
- Actively give to the company ‘s external agenda in key activities with institutional partners and trade associations
- Efficiently prioritize the different tasks and be a validated “planner”
- Show a strong business orientation
- Be recognized by clients and fellow lawyers for their personal reliability and adequate legal judgment
- Be able to connect with the different J&J businesses and collaborators
- Demonstrate integrity based decision making and a compliance driven mind-set
- Prove a growing autonomy in handling their daily work together with an outstanding reliability
- Balance a high level of service to the business with the capability to take difficult and unpopular decisions, if needed
