Objectives The Manager Bridge & Structural Design Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and monitoring of bridge and marine projects within the FRA. Reporting to the General Manager of Planning and Engineering Development Division, this role involves leading a team of engineers, coordinating project activities, and ensuring that bridge and marine infrastructure projects are executed successfully. Key Duties and Responsibilities Bridges / Marine Structures Programme Management Responsible to the General Manager Planning & Engineering Development Division for the general oversight and management of all aspects of the Bridges/Marine Structures Programme - ensuring that all work is completed to the required standard, within the required time and within the approved budget (or such amended budget as may have been formally approved). The Manager Bridge & Structural Design Engineering will need to develop comprehensive project plans for bridge and marine projects, outlining key milestones, resources, and timelines. Includes primary responsibility for coordination with relevant stakeholders to identify project requirements and objectives, managing the design development and review process, formulation of the tender documents, prepare board reports on Projects status as required, input into the tender process and evaluation, management of consultants and FRA staff engaged in supervision of the construction work, prepare and review scoping statements for bridges/marine structures, management of consultants to undertake detailed design and management of all payments for work done. Required performance: Overall projects run to time and budget and any adverse effects are managed. Communications Plan Responsible for the development of a communications plan for the Bridges/Marine projects that pro-actively addresses stakeholder concerns about the temporary and permanent effects of these projects and ensures that the reputation of FRA is preserved throughout. The Communications plan shall include “branding” of these projects, site signage, project information releases, public meetings, liaison with service and regulatory authorities and major affected parties such as bus operators, schools emergency services etc. The communications plan shall de developed in conjunction with Project Consultants, Contractors, FRA’s communications staff and senior management of the FRA
