Purpose/ General Job Description

The A&T Senior Accountant (SA) collaborates a team of Accountants in Cairo office while aligning with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities include being the Onboarding Specialist providing support in business growth by incorporating new Clients with least turnaround time as possible while assuring quality of output.

The SA will provide quality assurance to the output financial reports and tax returns for clients prepared by accountants. The reports are expected to be reliable, has complied with relevant IFRS and tax regulations and submitted timely whether monthly, quarterly or annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Onboarding Specialist, gathering information from other teams and clients.
  • Implement procedural and guideline changes.
  • Build, develop, and maintain client relationships.
  • Deliver comprehensive tax services within legal deadlines.
  • Prepare and file tax returns; monitor tax legislation changes.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver transfer pricing studies and intercompany agreements.
  • Manage tax audits and disputes, providing documentation and negotiating settlements.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments for tax considerations in business decisions.
  • Identify process weaknesses and implement solutions to ensure correct tax outputs.
  • Manage tax risk and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Review contract proposals for tax positions.
  • Ensure timely submission of all tax payments and periodic returns.
  • Build strong relationships with tax authorities and provide innovative tax planning.
  • Attend client meetings as required.
  • Oversee completion of know-your-client procedures.
  • Process accounting and tax-related work.
  • Prepare and submit accounts and reports per Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Prepare and submit VAT, WHT returns, and CIT provisions.

Key Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a sizable CPA firm or multinational company, with additional tax experience in international professional firms being an advantage.
  • Qualified accountant from a recognized professional body is desirable.
  • Experience in local and international tax, including VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing.
  • MENA & GCC tax experience with exposure to complex tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of international accounting practices (IFRS) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Odoo, Zoho, and SAP is a plus.
  • Proficient in written and spoken Arabic and English.
  • Characteristics: reliable, self-motivated, organized, able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
