Job Title: Power Supply lead engineer

Purpose of the Job: As "Power Supply lead engineer, in the context of projects; you will be performing the basic and detailed power Supply engineering activities of a traction project (metro, tramway or mainline).

And assist the "Power Supply engineering manager" in his role of performing overall power supply project & tendering engineering.

Manage all the Power Supply interfaces civil and MEP partners/contractors and the externals interfaces with local utility.

Support technically site installation and testing and commissioning teams .

Organization Reporting:

The position reports hierarchically to the "Power Supply Engineering Manager" Or project engineering manager

Network & Links

The "Power Supply lead engineer MV/LV" will liaise with: Engineering: Power supply engineering team, Systems engineering team Various Subsystem ( signaling , trackwork's , Coms & depo equipment ) Project: Project management team, Site: Construction + tests and commissioning teams, External interface: Suppliers + Subcontractors + Customer + Partners, External power utility company Regional Centers.

The "Power Supply lead engineer MV/LV" work will be evaluated according to the following points:

On-time delivering: 100%, Respect of Design For Quality milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of his Metier, Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%, Quality of the works performed in the frame of Central function.

Responsibilities

As "Power Supply lead engineer" in project:

Lead the MV LV engineering and Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards. Propose product in terms of performance and reliability solutions. Lead the Traction engineering and Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards. Propose product in terms of performance and reliability solutions. Lead the Installation engineering and Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards. Propose product in terms of performance and reliability solutions. Supervise the power Supply Automation engineer and guide the teams Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / low voltage parts) basic engineering activities of a project: Provide electrical architectures, technical specifications, functional specifications and interface specifications, clause by clause and identify gaps Responsible for writing and modifying calculation notes .( HV/MV/LV Cable Sizing & Protection Coordination , short circuit calculation CT VT sizing , earthing lightening UPS and charger sizing other substation equipment sizing calculations ,cable tray and support loading calculation etc . Provide the inputs and evaluate the traction simulation study Provide the inputs and evaluate the MV simulation study Identifying and manage the interfaces required between POS MV-LV sub system and other sub systems. Performing the transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialists, Defining the MVLV operational modes and functionalities taking as input the external/internal requirements , Writing sub-system specification and architecture.. Provide method statements , testing procedure , trainings as per the project requirements Writes the Technical Purchasing Specification . Evaluate the supplier offer and documents , define the standards and requirements to the supplier , validate and patriciate in the factory acceptance test and coordinate / manage the supplier. Responsible for V&V activities like Defining and performing verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering metiers, Certification & Validation Responsible for: Technical open issues resolution at site , from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure, Responsible in providing technical support to Construction and Test and Commissioning teams , when required participate in site testing and commissioning . Responsible for: Performing reporting at project level ( KPI) and metier level (via weekly reports) Supporting PrEM for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process ,QCD optimisation and participate in design review. Participate to the As-built documentation drawings modifications. Providing Return of experience to be implemented in Reference Solutions Assist and coordination / interfaces with:
  • The region and central engineering team/experts,
  • The others sub-systems of the project, particularly: Systems, RAMS , EMC, Procurements , contacts civil works, etc...
  • The customer,
  • The project management team,
  • The suppliers, the subcontractors, and the partners.

Knowledge & Experience

Graduated from engineering school in electrical systems, A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering and minimum 5 years in Metro tram system electrical engineering. Professional experience in railway transportation, Expertise related to the MV network sizing in using specific tool (ETAP,SKM for example) will be added advantage Expertise related to the MV cable sizing in using specific tool (ETAP, CYMCAP for example), Good knowledge of electrical installation (high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage), Good knowledge in Autcad software Knowledge in BIM will be an added advantage Autonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in technical topics, Fluent English Arabic & French will be ana added advantage Autonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in technical topics,
