Purpose of the Job:


As "Power Supply Design Engineer, in the context of projects; you will be performing the basic and detailed power Supply engineering activities of a traction project (metro, tramway or mainline).

And assist the "Power Supply engineering manager" in his role of performing overall power supply project & tendering engineering.

Manage all the Power Supply interfaces civil and MEP partners/contractors and the externals interfaces with local utility.

Support technically site installation and testing and commissioning teams.

Organization Reporting:

The position reports hierarchically to the "Power Supply Engineering Manager" Or project engineering manager.

Network & Links

The "Power Supply Design Engineer" will liaise with:

  • Engineering: Power supply engineering team,
  • Systems engineering team
  • Various Subsystem ( signaling, trackwork's, Coms & depot equipment )
  • Project: Project management team,
  • Site: Construction + tests and commissioning teams,
  • External interface: Suppliers + Subcontractors + Customer + Partners,
  • External power utility company
  • Regional Centers.

The "Power Supply Design Engineer" work will be evaluated according to the following points:

  • Ontime delivering: 100%,
  • Respect of Design For Quality milestones: 100%
  • Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of his Metier,
  • Respect of performances of the system provided: 100%,
  • Quality of the works performed in the frame of Central function.

Responsibilities

As "Power Supply Design Engineer" in project:

  • Responsible for the MV LV engineering and Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards. Propose product in terms of performance and reliability solutions.
  • Responsible for the Traction engineering and Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards. Propose product in terms of performance and reliability solutions.
  • Responsible for the Installation engineering and Ensure the implementation of the projects according to the design for quality standards. Propose product in terms of performance and reliability solutions.
  • Supervise the power Supply Automation engineer and guide the teams
  • Perform the power supply (for high voltage / medium voltage / low voltage parts) basic engineering activities of a project:
  • Provide electrical architectures, technical specifications, functional specifications and interface specifications, clause by clause and identify gaps
  • Responsible for writing and modifying calculation notes.( HV/MV/LV Cable Sizing & Protection Coordination, short circuit calculation CT VT sizing, earthing lightening UPS and charger sizing other substation equipment sizing calculations ,cable tray and support loading calculation etc.
  • Provide the inputs and evaluate the traction simulation study
  • Provide the inputs and evaluate the MV simulation study
  • Identifying and manage the interfaces required between POS MV-LV sub system and other sub systems.
  • Performing the transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialists,
  • Defining the MVLV operational modes and functionalities taking as input the external/internal requirements, Writing subsystem specification and architecture.
  • Provide method statements, testing procedure, trainings as per the project requirements
  • Writes the Technical Purchasing Specification.
  • Evaluate the supplier offer and documents, define the standards and requirements to the supplier, validate and patriciate in the factory acceptance test and coordinate / manage the supplier.
  • Responsible for V&V activities like Defining and performing verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering metiers, Certification & Validation
  • Responsible for: Technical open issues resolution at site, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,
  • Responsible in providing technical support to Construction and Test and Commissioning teams, when required participate in site testing and commissioning.
  • Responsible for: Performing reporting at project level ( KPI) and metier level (via weekly reports)
  • Supporting PrEM for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process ,QCD optimisation and participate in design review.
  • Participate to the Asbuilt documentation drawings modifications.
