Role Description The Business Intelligence Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Cairo, Egypt, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, the individual designs, develops, and maintains BI solutions, including data models, ETL processes, and data warehouses to support business reporting and analytics. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering requirements from stakeholders, transforming raw data into structured datasets, building dashboards and reports, and ensuring data accuracy and performance. The Business Intelligence Engineer collaborates closely with product, operations, and leadership teams to translate business questions into actionable insights and to continuously improve data-driven decision making. The role also involves monitoring BI systems, troubleshooting data issues, optimizing queries, and contributing to best practices for data governance and documentation. Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical BI solutions.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing concepts to design scalable, reliable data structures.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools and processes for integrating and transforming data.
- Ability to design and develop dashboards and reports using modern BI and data visualization tools.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases; familiarity with cloud data platforms is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the tech or digital services industry is a plus; knowledge of best practices in data governance and security is beneficial.
