About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Purchasing Supervisor to oversee procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely availability of materials at competitive costs while maintaining quality standards and supporting the company's operational needs. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily purchasing activities and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize costs and improve procurement efficiency.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and payment terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and operational supplies.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Warehouse departments to ensure material availability.
- Analyze purchasing trends, market prices, and supplier offers to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review purchase requisitions and approve purchase orders within authorized limits.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Prepare purchasing reports, KPIs, and periodic performance analyses.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the purchasing team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and supplier approval requirements. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in purchasing, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
- Experience in purchasing raw materials and packaging materials for food manufacturing.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of inventory management and supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
