Oracle-ODS Consultant

Role overview We are seeking an Oracle Operational Data Store (ODS) Consultant based in Egypt to support Saudi Business Machines projects in Saudi Arabia. The consultant will design, develop, integrate, and support Oracle-based operational data stores that consolidate data from enterprise systems for operational reporting and downstream applications. The role involves working with SBM project teams, business stakeholders, data architects, and source-system owners to deliver reliable data pipelines, accurate data, and maintainable solutions through an offshore delivery model.

Key responsibilities
• Gather requirements and translate business needs into ODS designs, source-to-target mappings, data models, and technical specifications.
• Design and maintain Oracle database schemas, tables, views, indexes, constraints, and PL/SQL packages for operational data integration and reporting.
• Develop and support ETL or ELT pipelines using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or the integration platform selected for the project.
• Implement initial loads, incremental loads, and change data capture where required, including restart, recovery, and error-handling procedures.
• Integrate data from Oracle and other enterprise sources; implement validation, cleansing, deduplication, and source-to-target reconciliation.
• Tune SQL, PL/SQL, and data-loading processes to meet agreed performance, data freshness, and processing-window requirements.
• Perform unit and integration testing, support user acceptance testing, resolve defects, and assist with controlled production releases.
• Monitor data loads, investigate incidents, and resolve data-quality or performance issues in coordination with application teams and DBAs.
• Maintain mapping documents, lineage, deployment instructions, and support runbooks; follow approved access controls and data-handling procedures.   Required qualifications and skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in Oracle database development and data integration, including hands-on delivery of ODS or comparable enterprise data solutions.
• Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, packages, exception handling, and performance troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with ODI or a comparable enterprise ETL or ELT platform, including scheduling, monitoring, and failed-load recovery.
• Sound understanding of relational data modelling, staging layers, operational data stores, data warehouses, and batch versus near-real-time integration.
• Experience with incremental loading, change data capture concepts, data reconciliation, data-quality controls, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of Linux or Unix commands, scripting, version control, and controlled deployment practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently, communicate clearly in English, and collaborate effectively with distributed technical and business teams. Preferred experience
• Oracle GoldenGate for replication and change data capture, where used in the project architecture.
• Integration with Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion applications, or other ERP and CRM platforms.
• Exposure to Oracle Analytics, BI Publisher, or other reporting tools consuming ODS data.
• Experience supporting Saudi or GCC customers, Arabic communication skills, or relevant Oracle certifications. Offshore working arrangements
• The consultant will be based in Egypt and deliver services remotely for SBM projects in Saudi Arabia.

will align with the agreed project schedule and provide sufficient overlap with Saudi-based teams and customer stakeholders.
• The role requires regular project meetings, progress reporting, knowledge transfer, and adherence to agreed delivery milestones and service commitments.
• Any travel to Saudi Arabia will be subject to project needs and prior agreement. Employment terms, contract duration, and compensation will be confirmed during recruitment.
