REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, International Development, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in civil society development, community engagement, or related development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in institutional capacity strengthening and partnership management.
  • Experience working with community-based organizations and local stakeholders.
  • Experience in facilitating training, workshops, and community events is an asset.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent facilitation, training, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in Arabic and good working knowledge of English

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Hybrid work that is a blend of in-office and field visits. Normal conditions for an office environment.

BACKGROUND
The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is an Egyptian non-profit organization established in 1991 under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. OHF is the implementation agency for the Aga Khan Foundation Egypt and is an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network and was founded by Om Habibeh Sultan Mohammed Shah Aga Khan to contribute to and support local communities in the governorate of Aswan in areas including health care, education, and providing income for deprived communities through long-term development activities. OHF works in the following areas: Civil Society, Agriculture and Food Security, Work and Enterprise Climate Resilience, Disability inclusion, Health and Nutrition and Early Childhood Development.


Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is implementing 18 Months project which is “Strengthening Civil Society   and   Community Resilience- (Aswan   Together)” funded by Aga Khan Foundation, which aims to strengthen the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Aswan and empower them to deliver more effective, inclusive, and sustainable development services. The project targets 10 CSOs in Aswan district to improve their organizational capacities, enhance their participation in local governance processes, and enable them to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of their communities.

Position Objectives:
The Civil Society Coordinator will lead and supervise a field team consisting of two Field Officers, ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities while maintaining high-quality engagement with communities and partner CSOs in Aswan Governorate. The position is responsible for strengthening partnerships with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), supporting institutional capacity development, enhancing community engagement, and ensuring effective implementation of activities related to governance, financial sustainability, women's economic empowerment, and adolescent engagement. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Team Management and Supervision
  • Directly supervise, mentor, and support two Field Officers to ensure effective implementation of project activities.
  • Develop and monitor individual work plans, targets, and performance objectives for team
  • members.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to Field Officers on community engagement, beneficiary outreach, and CSO coordination.
  • Coordinate task allocation and workload management to ensure efficient use of human resources.
Institutional Capacity Strengthening:
  • Support the identification and selection of partner CSOs based on project criteria.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with CSOs, community leaders, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assess organizational capacity and development needs of partner CSOs.

Women's Economic Empowerment and Community Initiatives:
  • Coordinate with existing women's economic empowerment initiatives to ensure complementarity and maximize impact.
  • Support CSOs in developing community-based economic and social initiatives that contribute to income generation and resilience.
Adolescent and Youth Engagement:
  • Coordinate the establishment and operation of Adolescent and Parent-Friendly Spaces.
  • Support partner organizations in delivering youth-focused activities and services.
  • Ensure that activities are implemented in line with approved project methodologies and quality standards.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
  • Develop and maintain work plans for civil society-related activities.
  • Collect periodic data on key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with the M&E
  • system.
  • Develop comprehensive quarterly and annual reports documenting progress and challenges.
  • Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices.
