**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and frameworks tailored to the lending industry.
- Identify and evaluate potential risks within our lending operations, including credit risk, operational risk, market risk, and liquidity risk.
- Conduct risk assessments and reviews to identify emerging risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure risk factors are considered in product development and business initiatives.
- Establish robust risk monitoring processes to identify deviations from risk tolerance thresholds and promptly escalate issues.
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and develop effective risk reporting mechanisms for executive management and regulatory bodies.
- Regularly analyze risk exposure and portfolio performance, providing insights to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes impacting risk management, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Oversee credit underwriting processes, including loan origination, credit scoring models, and risk-based pricing strategies.
- Manage the credit portfolio, establishing risk appetite and credit limits while optimizing risk-reward trade-offs.
- Implement effective collections and recovery strategies to minimize credit losses and improve overall portfolio performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.
- Collaborate with internal legal and compliance teams to develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during examinations and audits, addressing any findings and implementing necessary remedial actions.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and technology, to ensure alignment on risk-related matters and promote a risk-conscious culture throughout the organization.

Qualification:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) are a plus.
- Proven experience (X+ years) in risk management within the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on lending or FinTech.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, underwriting processes, and portfolio management principles
- In-depth knowledge of risk management methodologies, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements relevant to lending institutions
- Familiarity with data analysis and statistical modeling techniques to support risk assessment and decision-making
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate risks in complex business environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting risk-related information to senior management and stakeholders
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing risk teams
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving FinTech environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
