In shaping the future of monetization for personalized AI assistants and pioneering innovation in the advertiser agentic space, as a Senior Applied Scientist, you will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to develop cutting-edge agentic solutions using state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs), image understanding, and multimodal models.

Your role will involve continuous optimization by implementing techniques such as distillation and fine-tuning of LLMs, ensuring the highest standards of quality, tone, and style. You will also establish and refine evaluation metrics, prioritizing quality, speed and efficiency. You will also be responsible for driving safe responses by defining sets, metrics, and protections, and collaborating with Responsible AI (RAI) and Safety teams to ensure compliance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partner with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios driving projects from design through implementation, experimentation and finally shipping to our users.
- Develop and implement models and algorithms for core agent functionalities, including natural language understanding, dialogue management, and response generation
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate and optimize agent performance metrics, such as user engagement, task completion rate, and response quality, using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.

**Qualifications**:
**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
- OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying production-ready machine learning models for natural language processing (NLP) tasks, particularly within conversational AI or chat domains.
