As a member of the BI/DWH Big Data chapter at Advansys, you will focus on big data cluster management and SQL performance tuning to ensure the optimal operation of our data warehouse systems. You will play a critical role in supporting our data architecture strategies, leveraging your expertise to manage complex big data environments and develop robust solutions that drive business intelligence initiatives.
**In this role, you will**:

- Manage and optimize big data clusters for high availability and performance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to cluster performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design and implement efficient SQL queries and stored procedures to enhance data retrieval processes.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to establish best practices for data management and processing.
- Implement vehicle management for big data environments, ensuring compliance with corporate data governance policies.
- Participate in the development of data access and retention policies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data processes and methodologies through research and experimentation with emerging technologies.

**Requirements**:

- Key Skills
- Cluster Management Tools:

- Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive for cluster management.
- SQL Expertise:

- Deep understanding of SQL, including performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Big Data Technologies:

- Knowledge of cloud-based big data technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Data Governance:

- Awareness of data governance principles and best practices.
- Soft Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:

- 3-4 years of experience in big data management or business intelligence roles.
- Proven track record of managing big data clusters and optimizing SQL databases.
- Certifications (optional but preferred):

- Certifications in big data technologies or platforms (e.g., Cloudera, AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty).
