**Job Summary**:
Our partner is on the look for a
**Director of Analytics **that
** **applies strong expertise in artificial intelligence through use of machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval to design, prototype and build next generation advanced analytics engines and services. S/he collaborates with business partners to define the technical problem statement and hypothesis to test and s/he develops efficient and accurate analytical models that mimic business decisions and incorporates them into analytical data products or tools with the support of a cross-functional team. S/he is responsible for establishing best in class data analytics across all (e-commerce) products. S/he is driven by a hands-on mentality and actively coaches the team to solve complex problems. S/He has experience in leading cross disciplinary teams, developing a clear vision/mission as well as establishing a safe, collaborative, growth-focused, purposeful, values driven, and diverse company culture across all organizational levels.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborates with business partners across different domains and squads to develop novel ways to meet objectives utilizing analytical methodologies and approaches
- Effectively communicates the analytics approach and how it will meet and address objectives to business partners and senior leadership
- Ensures that business values is delivered by leveraging overarching analytical approaches
- Advocates and educates on the value of data driven decision making focusing on the “how and why” of solving problems
- Creates repeatable, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products
- Shares passion for data analytics with broader company's community and identifies longterm processes, frameworks, tools, methods and standards
- Stays connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements
- Shares responsibility to attract, recruit and retain tech talents to quickly grow the analytic teams across all squads

**Requirements**:

- Has degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Has at least 8 years of experience in Analytics with deep insight into newest trends and has at least 3 years as people leader
- Has proficiency with Python or R and is experienced working with data frames
- Has track record in leveraging analytical models to create business value
- Has experience in establishing data driven decision making across an organization
- Has proven ability to merge and transform disparate internal & external data sets together to create new features
- Experience with Big Data technologies desired — Hadoop, Spark, H20.ai, Cloud AI platforms, containerization
- Has experience with supporting deployment, monitoring, maintenance and enhancement of models
- Experience with data visualization tools preferred — Tableau, R Shiny, Plotly, etc.
- Has experience in agile ways of working across an interdisciplinary team
- Understands relationship with Product Manager, Scrum Master, Design Lead and rest of technical team
- Has strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver complex messages, explain trade-offs, and tell a compelling story - also for corporate stakeholders
- Has strong network within the Egyptian tech ecosystem and experience in operating in diverse and international settings is preferred
- Is an active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize the team’s potential
- Acts as proactive problem solver that leads and inspires the team to deliver and push boundaries
- Is acutely aware of, curious about, and able to leverage the benefits and potential of teams’ cultural differences and diverse backgrounds
