- Define and document roles such as Data Owner, Data Steward, and Data Custodian
- Develop and maintain data governance documentation, procedures, and guidelines
- Participate in data governance councils and stakeholder meetings
- Monitor and improve data quality frameworks and controls
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure proper data handling and compliance
- Support metadata management and data lineage initiatives
- Ensure adherence to data security, classification, and protection standards
- Assist in implementing data cataloging and governance tools
- Contribute to governance in regulated environments (e.g., banking, payments) Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in data governance or related roles
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and operating models
- Experience in defining data roles (Owner, Steward, Custodian)
- Hands-on experience with data quality management and monitoring
- Solid understanding of data architecture and data engineering concepts
- Experience with data governance and cataloging tools such as:
- Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, Informatica (or similar)
- Knowledge of metadata management and data lineage concepts
- Familiarity with data security, classification, and protection mechanisms
- Understanding of compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS) is a plus
- Experience in banking or payments industry is a strong advantage
