**About the role**:
**Big Data, Application Support and Cloud Operations Engineer**

**Mission**:
Within the MAC team, the scope of this job is to ensure the following tasks on a 24x7 basis (on-call basis):
**Technical Responsibilities**
- handle, diagnose and route in real-time incoming trouble tickets
- responsible for 2nd level technical support and escalation
- communicate planned/unplanned outages to end users
- provide workarounds for major issues until permanent fix is delivered
- Providing L2 support for the cloud infrastructure

**Functional Responsibilities**
- Representing the team with different stakeholders within the organization
- Having full autonomy within the team

**Technical**
- Proven understanding and hands-on experience with Big Data processes; Apache Hadoop (MapReduce), Hive, HDFS, Yarn
- Proven understanding and hands-on experience with Big Data Orchestration tools; Apache Oozie
- Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Python, Scala, R etc.)
- Strong database/SQL skills and able to work with huge data sets from Hadoop as well as leading databases (e.g. Teradata, Oracle, MySQL, DB2 etc.)
- Strong NoSQL database skills (e.g. MongoDB, Apache HBASE, Cassandra etc.)
- Experience with Hortonworks Hadoop distribution components and custom products (e.g. Impala, Navigator, Ambari, Nifi and Sentry etc.)
- Preferred experience in handling streaming and/or unstructured data through Apache components like Kafka, and Spark
- Operating system administration & scripting (Windows, Linux)
- Database administration (Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Development using one of this list (Python ,Java, ASP.NET, node.js, C# ,PHP, react.js)
- Continuous delivery tools (Dockers, Kubernetees, Ansible )
- Good experience in working in agile and devops is a plus
- Good understanding of network protocols
- ITIL foundation knowledge (certificate is a plus)

**Educational background**
- B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
