**Role purpose**:
Support Vodafone Active Directory environment to both maintain security and support and provide additional functionality. Provide additional desktop security, standardization, and functionality through group policy. Applied schema extensions, functional level updates as necessary.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Creation and management of directory infrastructure
- Includes FSMO roles, trusts, Kerberos KDCs, replication topology, etc.
- Creation of all top-level OU hierarchies with Vodafone standard sub-OUs, groups, and appropriate security permissions. This includes adding the OU Admins to the AddComputers group, Group Policy Creator Owners group, and OU Admins mail list. It also includes setting appropriate permissions on the created objects and linking of default GPOs.
- Monitoring and reporting associated with the reliability and security of the domain
- Use the domain admin account only for actions that require the privilege level of this account
- Monitoring changes to domain root and domain controllers OU to ensure unauthorized changes do not occur
- Day-to-day management of the domain controllers
- Monitoring connectivity, synchronization, replication, netlogon, time services, FSMO roles, schema, NTDS database partitions, DNS settings, SRV records, and trust relationships
- Review DC event and security logs and take corrective actions
- Monitor and resolve security situations at all levels of the domain to ensure a stable and secure domain
**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- BSC in Engineering or Computer Science
- 7 - 9 years’ experience in operating of IT infrastructure in datacentre environments, preferably Server
- / Storage and/or administration of network infrastructure.
- Managed a multi-forest or multi-domain Active Directory environment.
- Participated in design and migration activities for Active Directory

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:
Technical skills:

- Rock-solid hands-on-experience in Active Directory is a must.
- MCSE certificate is a must.
- Experience in Windows Server 2008 or 2012 is mandatory.
- Experience in troubleshooting and strong PowerShell scripting is mandatory.
- Reporting and analysis skills are preferred.
- Project management knowledge is a plus.
- ITIL Foundation certificate is a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be team oriented
Must have technical support experience via the phone and via direct customer facing
Must have systems support experience, preferably in a large production environment
Experience in working with professionals from other cultures
