- Review and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze financial information to identify trends and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance and training on accounting procedures and best practices.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or processes as needed.
- Participate in special projects and perform ad hoc analyses as needed to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
- Support the Accounting Manager in any additional accounting-related tasks as required.
- Assist in senior bookkeeping responsibilities.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, including invoices, bills, checks, sales, purchases, and expenses, in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintaining accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Preparing and filing tax forms, such as 1099s and sales tax returns
- Generating financial reports on a regular basis, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Assist in preparing and filing tax forms, such as 1099s and local taxes returns depending on the state.
