**Role description**

Within the SME Finance & Development Group, the intern will provide support to the team members working on SME development programmes critical to the Bank’s current SME strategy, including local consultancy, international advisory, as well as other related donor-funded initiatives. The role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Data gathering, research and providing background information into thematic, donor or country priorities.
- Administrative and analytical support in specific areas of projects implementation.
- Active coordination between different teams in the EBRD and with external consultants.
- Organisation and support to the management of upcoming events or workshops in Egypt. Support with marketing and communication assignments including preparation data for case studies, visits and other materials about successful projects.
- Assistance with the implementation of joint activities, including supporting the monitoring and reporting processes.
- Ad hoc requests.

**Key skills required**
- Excellent written (report writing, correspondence) and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
- Proven analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to work well within a team and independently
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Passion to learn and grow in EBRD

**Education/Experience required**
- Have exposure to business finance, entrepreneurship, or relevant business experience
- Bachelor’s degree holder, preferably in: International Relations, Development, Economics, Business, Finance or similar
- Computer literacy
- Interest in support to SMEs and consultancy market development in Egypt
