Currently we are looking for a** Business Developer** in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - **Improving our future.** As our **Business Developer**, you will be a key member in the project development team within Scatec. The role will lead on the process of initiating and securing necessary permits/licenses related to renewable energy and green hydrogen production in Egypt. This includes permits related to construction, operation, land access, civil defence as well as other key licenses and government authorizations. The role will also support other internal and external stakeholders in developing Scatec’s pipeline/backlog of projects in Egypt be responsible for the management of all controlled project documents during project structuring and execution phases.**Main responsibilities**
- Lead permitting activities for green hydrogen, wind & solar projects in Egypt
- Maintain and update the permit register for each of Scatec’s pipeline of projects in Egypt
- Maintain relationship with relevant governmental authorities/ministries
- Liaise closely with the project development team in Egypt and Scatec’s head office on development activities to maintain project timeline
- Support process of local country set-up and local SPV creation, where required
- Support in maintaining relationship with local vendors and contractors
- Support in development and structuring of renewable energy projects from early opportunity through the development cycle to financial close. Your ability to structure and negotiate complex transactions, to lead external and internal development processes, and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams is key to successfully lead the project to construction start.

**Qualifications and competencies**
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, law or other relevant fields
- 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience, which could include experience within renewable energy project development and financing of projects
- Strong project management and negotiation skills
- Experience with local stakeholders in the development of renewable or conventional energy projects
- Strong understanding of relevant local regulations and permitting processes
- Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, permitting requirements, bidding processes, EPC contract terms and conditions
- Fluent both written and spoken in English
